Your Vision, Our Support: Expanding the Potential of Your School

At Gersh, we understand the heart and vision that goes into creating a program for children on the autism spectrum—a place where they are respected, supported, and empowered to thrive. We know, because we’ve been there. Just like you, we’ve poured our passion and dedication into our schools, and now we’re able to partner with other schools like ours that are on the same path to success in a way that both honors and strengthens what’s been built.

OUR LEGACY

Gersh Autism has been transforming education for students with autism for over 30 years. What began in 1991 with the opening of West Hills Montessori School, where one child with special needs inspired the vision, grew into Gersh Academy in 1999, a school designed specifically to provide children on the autism spectrum with the tools they need to thrive.

Today, Gersh operates 11 programs across New York, Washington, New Hampshire, and Puerto Rico, with plans to expand by three additional programs by the end of 2025. We proudly serve nearly 600 children with autism and their families, and our mission to create a world where students on the autism spectrum are empowered to thrive continues to drive everything we do.

To continue this growth and impact, Gersh has expanded into partnering with other like-minded schools and programs. By offering the support, resources, and experience that come with our decades in the field, we are able to ensure that more students have access to the individualized care and education they deserve. Through our Powered By Gersh initiative, we help schools strengthen and expand their impact while staying true to their unique missions.

WHAT OTHERS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT GERSH

At Gersh Autism, our work is best reflected in the voices of those who know us best—parents, students, and the schools that have joined the Gersh family. Their experiences speak to the transformative impact of our programs and the trust we’ve built over 30 years.

Parents Trust Gersh Autism

Our commitment to individualized education and support is reflected in an exceptional Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 64, significantly outperforming other specialized schools (19) and public schools (-3). This score highlights the trust parents place in Gersh Autism. 96% of parents report that their children’s needs are fully met through our customized programs, while 66% of Gersh families fall into the “Promoter” category, indicating they would highly recommend our schools. In comparison, only 31% of parents at other specialized schools and 25% of public school parents feel the same.

Our daughter did not want to go to school before Gersh Academy… Within the first few months, she developed trust with the staff and was willing to go to school. Intellectually, I see her flourishing because she is much less anxious. We feel very fortunate to have found a safe, warm, inviting atmosphere for our daughter.” – Parent of student with Autism in a Gersh Academy

Success Stories from Powered By Gersh Schools

Since AYM became “Powered by Gersh” in July 2023, the transformation has been both impactful and significant. Joining the Gersh team has ultimately enhanced our operations and propelled the growth of our school community in meaningful ways. Operating a start-up school often means taking on everything yourself—juggling multiple roles and figuring out how to make it all work. Transitioning to a partnership with Gersh brought its own set of adjustments, but the benefits have been undeniable. Having access to dedicated team support in critical areas like IT, recruiting, hiring, admissions, facilities management, and HR business partnership has been a game-changer.This collaboration, while requiring adaptation, has streamlined our operations and empowered us to focus more fully on our mission: delivering exceptional education and support to our students and families. We deeply appreciate the positive impact this partnership has brought to AYM as we continue to evolve and thrive. – Helena Han, Head of School AYM
