The BASE Institute follows an Applied Behavioral Analysis approach.
- Uses Discrete Trial Instruction
- Functional Behavioral Assessment
- Individualized Academic Programs including: Specialized Reading, Functional Mathematics, Social Studies / Science, Music / Art / Phys. Education
- Language Skills Development: Pragmatic Skills Training, Use of PECS (Picture Exchange, Communication Symbols), Oral Motor Development, Articulation Training, Availability of Augmentative, Communication devices

The BASE Institute is founded on the belief that a true team approach is key to the success of our students. The team includes the parents / guardian, program director, special education teacher, one or more paraprofessional aide(s), speech / language therapist, occupational therapist, social worker and school psychologist.
Parents must have a cell phone or beeper number and be accessible to the school during the day. Parents must be open to modifying the students schedule when necessary.
