BASE Institute Program Features


The BASE Institute provides behavioral, academic, and social enrichment to children with autism spectrum disorders.

PARTNERSHIPS FOR PARENTS

Parental commitment is an important component for the students success in the BASE Institute. When we accept a student, we accept the family.

Parents are strongly encouraged to participate in the following manner:

  • Ongoing involvement in on-site parent support / skills training group
  • Frequent communication with the classroom teaching team to ensure continuity of programming.

Parents of children in the BASE Institute must be accessible during the school day to be open to modifying the students schedule when necessary.

TRAINING

  • It is required that all staff members participate in weekly training sessions. The staff receives intensive training on autism spectrum disorders and applied behavioral analysis.

  • Parent Support / Training groups are offered twice a month throughout the school year. All parents are strongly encouraged to attend.

CLASS SIZE RATIO

Students receive personalized attention due to small student to teacher ratios. All classes have up to six students and are taught by a certified special education teacher.
