Gersh Academy is dedicated to creating a dynamic partnership among home, school and community. Our team understands, accepts and supports children by teaching them the way they learn. Our goal is to develop the whole child and teach them skills for everyday life. We provide a nurturing environment that allows students the opportunity to reach their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.

WHAT IS BASE?
Behavioral Academic and Social Enrichment
BASE Institute is a private school which utilizes applied behavioral analysis methodology for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, ages 8 - 21. It is a center based, full day program that provides ten month academic, social and behavioral treatment.
BASE Institute primarily serves children on the autism spectrum who need a program to address educational, social, and sensory needs. These children require a high degree of individualized attention and intervention that may not be provided in a mainstream setting.

TEAM APPROACH
BASE Institute is founded on the belief that a true team approach is key to the success of our students.
Each team is comprised of the parent(s) / guardian(s), the program director, a special education teacher, a school psychologist, an assistant teacher / 1:1 aide, a speech / language therapist, an occupational therapist, a physical therapist, a social worker, and a consulting psychiatrist when necessary.
